Donald Ferrante, D.C. - President
Dr. Ferrante graduated from WSCC in 1974 and has been in active private practice for 28 years. A strong patient advocate, Dr. Ferrante has served as a team doctor for Portland State University Football, an examining physician for the National Fitness Classic, and has been consultant to the President's Council on Physical Fitness. He takes an active role in his community by sponsoring youth teams and programs, and has coached a variety of different youth teams over the years. He maintains a private practice in Portland, Oregon and specializes in spinal injuries stemming from motor vehicle collisions. He also teaches post-graduate seminars on subjects relating to vehicular injury.
LaVerne Saboe Jr., D.C. - Lobbyist

Dr. Saboe is a Board Certified chiropractic neurologist and forensic examiner, as well as a practicing chiropractic physician. He is a current member of the Nominal Panel of the OBCE's Practice and Utilization Guidelines Development Committee and the Experimental, Test, Substance, Device, and Procedures Committee. Dr. Saboe represents the profession on the federal level as Oregon's Delegate to the American Chiropractic Association and as such has been lobbying our Congressmen and Congresswomen in our nation's capital. A 1979 graduate of WSCC Dr. Saboe continues a very busy practice in Albany, Oregon- a practice established by his father LaVerne Saboe, Sr., in 1956.
Sunny Kierstyn, D.C.
Dr. Sunny Kierstyn has been active politically since becoming a licentiate in 1996. During this time she has served on the OBCE committee in the development of the Manual for Education & Evidence-Based Chiropractic. As a member of the Board of Directors of the CAO, she now serves as Co-Chairman of the Legislative Committee. Many years of experience as an acute-care RN led her to the understanding of the urgent and profound need for chiropractic and nutritional care for Americans. Her practice in Eugene includes the Fibromyalgia Care Center of Oregon.
Steven DeShaw, D.C.
A 1974 graduate of WSCC, Dr. DeShaw was the recipient in 1995 of the prestigious Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors award (FICC) and was named OCPA Chiropractor of the Year in 1987. He has served in a variety of state and regional capacities, including terms as President of the ODOC and the OCPA. Dr. DeShaw currently sits on the CAO's legislative committee and has co-authored the pending IME bill. Dr. DeShaw describes this bill's purpose as: " It will eliminate the bias in the current process, a system which denigrates both the claimant's right to care as well as their relationship with their chosen provider." Today, Dr. DeShaw maintains a private practice in Woodburn, Oregon that was established in 1975. Northwood Chiropractic Center is one of the larges multidisciplinary clinics in Oregon.

Jan Ferrante, Managing Director
Jan Ferrante has been involved with the Chiropractic profession since 1980. She began working as a Chiropractic Assistant and X-ray Tech. She then shifted gears to more claim management, collections and managing the office of her husband's clinic. In 1990 she became an Independent Property and Casualty Insurance Adjuster (without appointment by or working for an insurance company), passing the State of Oregon Licensing requirements/exams. She did this to expand her own knowledge when speaking to "Insurance Claims" personnel, and for their clinic patient's support. She is a mother and grandmother. She enjoys playing the piano, genealogy, writing poetry, photography, travel, and collecting Barbie dolls. She is a huge sports fan and enjoys watching football, basketball, and following her 21 year old daughter around the golf course.
